The tiredness and insomnia are also symptoms of depression, and shortness of breath could perhaps be related panic attacks. The lumps in your neck - may they indicate that you are a bit run down in general?
If it was me I would go back to the doctor (and go through all of them in the practice if my own couldn't help) and try to keep an open mind about possible alternatives. If it is ME some GPs are more sympathetic than others - boyfriend's mum was 3rd time lucky with hers and getting a diagnosis and treatment.
Are you eating enough? Have you also tried cutting down alcohol, caffine and sugar and increasing gentle exercise and veggies? I don't mean that could cure ME but it always helps, and might make you feel a bit better in the meantime. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.
i would go to a different doctor and see what their opinion is because they do usually vary. try not to self diagnose though because it can cause you to believe you've got all the symptoms and in effect feel worse. you're not on any medication that could cause side effects such as these symptoms are you?? just i've felt really unwell for a while, i had loads of tests done but they've all come back clear. doctors just told me it was due to stress but now it turns out its side effects to the pill im on. just a thought. let us know xx
I had virtually the same symptoms as you - even a big swollen gland on my chin - looked like a boil.
I was totally and utterly run down and had to give up work. Its your body crying out for a rest.I dont know whats happened in your personal life - but I bet there has been some long term stress.
I agree go back to Doc if youre not happy-but basically just listen to your body - chill!!
Best wishes - you'll be up and about in no time.
i hav had depression before and its not that im only takin the pill so its not side effects i have now read about m.e and everything seems to fit ive seen many a doctor only 1 said m.e which is why i wanted to read up on it thankyou all for your help when i nxt go to docs im going to tell them im not happy that evryone has discarded m.e when it fits my illness like a glove evrything else they hav tested for showed up negative and im startin to think they dont believe me that im ill as it makes me feel worse so thank you
I have fibromyalgia too which is similar in many ways to M.E. (hello beelsybob67 there are a few of us on here) & it took years of struggling but GPs & rheumatologists are now more clued up.
Do you have a lot of muscle pain, headaches, foggy head feeling? Write down every single thing that you feel & go back to your GP & ask whether your local hospital has an m.e. specialist. I know how frustrating it can be to feel so awful & feel that no one believes you. Do you have a friend/partner who witnesses how you are from day to day who can go with you?
There are lots of sites for m.e /f.m. Good luck, you will find some one who can help.
the things you've mentioned do suggest a neurological condition, but there are many others like it such as fibromyalgia, coeliac disease and worse still, MS.
if i were you i'd find yourself a new doctor, preferably referred by an ME association of some kind.
