I have a pack of these, Expire date 11-13, as I see it that's Nov 2013. Are they still usable and if so for how long. They are in blister packs so how can they have a use by date?

They'll be fine, the ones I am using are older than that and still effective.
yes, they will still be useable. Over time the active ingredients will get less potent, but i am talking of years
they don't go rotten like meat but the active chemicals may lose their potency. They won't kill you, they just won't work quite as well as new ones. I wouldn't worry about three months old myself, just take them and see.
They are fine Jeza, how is the new machine?

Thanks for the affirmative answers. I thought so but thought I best check.

Sibs, I have never taken so much pleasure in doing the washing.
2013 and you are worried? I rarely look at use by dates and can't say I have come to any harm yet. Goes for foodstuff as well. I have jar of honey with a 2014 date on it. They found recently 2000 year old honey still perfectly edible!
Btw I am pleased to hear about your new washing machine. :0)
was that a 2014BC use-by date, grasscarp?

Probably still ok.

Grass, I read this morning that honey is the only food stuff that does not spoil with age.
Yes Jeza - a best before date amazed me. i also have eye drops that say use within a month of opening but is mainly witch Hazel so you have to wonder where is the danger, or do they just want you to throw away and buy more.
Question Author
I think that's the idea of all use by dates Grass, we never use to have them.
Take notice of "use by" dates. Ignore "best before" as long as it looks and smells ok.
