Why are there still so many dirty so an so's around that don't wash their hands after going to the loo? I notice it nearly every time I go out, yesterday a quite posh talking woman came into the loo's in Morrisons with two kids, told the elder girl (about 5) to go in one cubicle and took a little boy (about 3) in with her, and when they were finished she told them to wait for her while she went, when she came out she looked in the mirror fluffed up her hair and put on lipstick, then they left, no move at all to wash their hands, no doubt to go round the shop touching stuff other folk would buy, makes me sick, has she not seen adverts for soap?

Yeah, strange that is, Daisy.
While we're on the subject of hand washing and forgive me if this has been discussed before, but what is the point of those battery operated hand wash thingys you can buy? It seems to me that if you have a push down type you only touch it to get soap to wash your hands, when presumably any germs get transferred at that stage, and you don't need to touch it again, if you get my drift. So... why the need for a battery operated one.

I admit I do have a couple, but when I thought about it I couldn't see the point of them. Have I missed it totally??
No point in them at all ^^
They just scare you into buying an expensive device that you do not need.
There is a similar ad at the moment, it is for an additive ( from Dettol I think) that you add to your washing powder to 'Kill Bacteria' the suggestion is that washing at low temperature does not kill bacteria and so is dangerous. Total botox the detergent kills the bacteria anyway the temperature has nothing to do with it.
I just wash my *** every few days so when I handle it it is clean so no need to wash my hands.

Simples!!
Then they touch the door handles to exit the toilets and we follow. I always pull my sleeves down or use a tissue for the purpose of opening doors. It also disgusts me that toilets are often left unflushed.
That was "pekker" in case you are wondering.
Keep it up, RATTER !
and why does the urinal appear to be a favourite place to spit out chewing gum? do people not realise that someone has to pick that up from there!!
It gives you something to aim at though, RATTER.
Yes, the likes of me Ratter!!! What the idea of that at all???
I wonder would it be an idea in these large department toilets to have one of these screens running as in the doctors surgery with all the bugs enlarged continually playing throughout the day? I don't think some people give hand washing a thought at all!
Some people come out of the toilet and just run their fingertips under the water. What is the point of that?
I seem to remember, a few years ago that there was some kind of survey done around the country where people had their hands swabbed and the results analysed. I remember being really surprised that many more women than men had hands that were contaminated with fecal matter.
People who don't wash their hands after going to the loo, or before handling food, is one of my pet hates. I too use tissues to open doors in public places, I never touch handrails on stairs, and I keep hand gel and wet wipes in my bag.
I remember a test carried out some years ago when eleven different samples of urine were found in a bowl of peanuts on a pub bar. Needless to say I'd rather buy a packet of crisps than eat hospitality food.
.....and they say that nuts are healthier than crisps!
Anyone who cleans toilets in a public building will tell you the same as I and my wife found . Ladies loos are ALWAYS fardirtyer and worse to clean than gents.
At least twice in cleaning the ladies in the community centre someone had defaecated on the floor beside the WC and we used to find poo on the seats at least once a week as well as the daily wee.
Holding on to the ecalator rail in a train station always makes me squirm.
That must be absolutely full of germs.
