For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.These seem to be very 'English' recipes by the use of the ingredient "potatoes" without specifying which type, as though it was of no consequence. All the other ingredients don't add up to much if you don't have the right ones. The reason that German potato salads are the best is because of their choice of superb potatoes, difficult, if not impossible to obtain in England.
Whilst I don't know for sure mccfluff, I guess it may just be an instruction to peel the 250 grams of them. Contrary to my previous post, despite not being into salads, and not favouring mingling sweet & savoury, the latter one doesn't seem bad, and may be worth a try. Can't get my head around mixing apples with spud though.
