Trying To Remove Left Over Anti-Virus Programme Files In Order To Install A New Product?
9 Answers
Hi. I am trying to install F-Secure internet security suite. When it is installing it says detecting conflicting software and then pops up and says "You need to uninstall K7UltimateSecurity" to proceed. This is my former Anti-virus programme. I had removed it via the control panel add/remove programmes, but it seems there is some left over files on the system I cannot find.
I have used K7s own uninstallation tool but it says it cannot find any trace of the product on my system.
I have searched the registry and hdd but cannot find anything resembling K7 files. I have also used the following programmes; Revo Uninstaller,Special Uninstaller and Perfect Uninstaller but they also cannot find anything.
Any help would greatly be appreciated, Thanks, Martin.

Yes I have restarted numerous times since uninstalling the K7 Suite and also used the programme SuperAntiSpyware Professional. I have also tried reinstalling the download for my new F-Secure product but it still gets half-way through installing then pops up with the "Please Uninstall K7UltimateSecurity".
F-Secure and Kasperski that we use both provide an downloadable ap that will completely remove all traces of the old installation from your PC. Anti-virus software is notoriously bad for getting very upset if you try to install it when their is even a trace of another one still around. I am not familiar with the K7 program you have been useing, but I would suggest that you contact the manufacturer and ask for some technical advice, and I suspect their will be an uninstaller to download and run to clean it all out properly.

Have you tried IORBIT Uninstaller free . I have found that some of this software imbeds itself and is hard to remove. This uninstaller goes into in to the installed programs and allows you to uninstall from there to completely remove them. It might be worth a try, Another option could be you install the old program and using the IOBIT Uninstaller remove it that way.
