I have a serious addiction to self harm. I began when I was 12 and at first it was only cutting. Now I am burning myself in the shower and at any taps I can find, I place flames onto my hand, I strangle myself, I beat myself with a rolling pin as well as cutting myself. I promised my friend I'd stop and I have. It's been 4 days and I'm ready to start again. I need help so I don't break this promise.
Yaz, I used to support person in the UK NHS, lot use to S.H. It is a cry for help, my advise ( A lot on here will not agree ) pick out the biggest bully and sort him / her out, they will never trouble you again belive me, I have been there many years ago, I did not S.H. that aside, this person give me some trouble, I will not go into detail what I done but it worked, I take it you...
I would suggest some professional help, so start with your GP. I'm assuming that you are still a teenager, with all the angst that goes with it, and I feel you have a number of issues, both with yourself and how you see yourself and also with other people, and talking to your friends is unlikely to give the answers you need. Good luck with everything.
How old are you, Yasmin ? Can you not go the your gp by yourself ? And if your parents find out surely they would support you in trying to beat this addiction.... I'd be surprised that they don't know already.
We can only make suggestions and support you in your efforts but the main moves must come from you.
The GP should be able to see you confidentially, if you're able to get there. There is also CAMHS, which are for adolescent mental health. If you can find your local one online, they may advise you over the phone. I agree, you need some outside help here and if your parents are at all supportive, tell them.
Anyway what's the big issue about confiding in your parents ? Are they ogres or something ? Do you have reason to think they do not want the best for you and help (if you will accept it) when you have a problem ?
Well I'm amazed that your parents don't know! Cutting yourself ,burning, strangling ,beating , flames on your hands. Talk to them now and get some help.
I have been bullied my entire schooling and last year one of the girls ended up shoving me into rocks. My mum works at my school so every teacher will talk to her about it.
To be honest not a lot. The girl who shoved me into the rocks got expelled however can come back next year and everyone else who bullies me isn't even noticed. A guy in my class calls me a stupid little girl every 5 minutes. A girl tells me I should sleep with an old friend of mine after we had a fall out. Another guy in my class pretends to cut and calls me an attention seeker even though he doesn't even know I cut. One of the guys in my grade calls me fat and ugly and a loner. He once told me to kill myself because no one would care. People are constantly calling me anorexic because I'm skinny. And nothing is don't about it. The same girl who shoved me threw my belongings on the ground, took chairs away from underneath me and made 26 other students in my class ignore me. She did this for a whole year until she decided to get physical. Her being expelled was and is the only thing ever done and she's coming back.
You desperately need help.
Being assaulted is a crime and is not just bullying.
I can understand your fears about talking to a teacher as your mum works at the school,
GP should and must treat you in confidence.
Your situation is becoming very dangerous, please, please see your GP at the soonest and most definitely your Guidance Teacher at school.
(I'm sure they must treat you in confidence too)
If you were one of my children who was going through this at the age of 15, I'd be horrified not to be told and would drag all the stops out to get any and all sorts of help for you. x
where do you live, yasmine, are you in the UK? You can always ring Childline anonymously, or the Samaritans, quite anonymously, if you want to talk to someone.
Your treatment at school is appalling - I can't believe that the school is allowing it to continue.
I agree with Alba. Can't understand why the girl is being allowed back after a year. Please talk to your parents and get help before you seriously harm yourself. Please.
