Rude People
16 Answers
Some older people complain long and loud about the youngsters of today. What do you think about this scenario? My son, daughter-in-law and their 2 children went into a garden centre and found a table with 6 chairs, son went off to order the food, leaving the other 3 at the table, meanwhile 3 elderly ladies arrived and sat themselves down, didn't ask if anyone else was sitting there or if these seats are free, nothing like that. My daughter-in-law pointed out that hubby was ordering the food and would be needing his seat in a minute. The women were really abusive and rude, asked if they thought they owned the table, said you young people are damn rude, my granddaughter started to cry because she was a bit scared of them shouting at her mummy. Anyway, my lot got up and went to find somewhere else to sit.

Not a great example to set to the little ones (the people who took your DIL's table) The older generation cannot expect the younger generation to respect them, if they have no respect for the younger generation themselves.
Personal space intrusion and rudeness can sometimes seem like the norm nowadays, and the 'yoof' will copy this. You get back what you give.

i was sitting in a cafe recently quietly getting on with my sandwich and coffee, at a two seat table, a bloke plonked himself down opposite me with no preamble, there were plenty of other seats available, not a word nothing, i am uncomfortable eating with strangers in such close proximity, i felt at least he could have said would it be alright if i sit here, i left.
I was waiting along with several other people at a bus stop and there was a lady in front of me. As the bus was pulling up some other woman came along and pushed in front of everyone to get on the bus. As the doors were opening the lady that had been in front of my tried to get past the rude woman but the rude woman gave her a nasty look and asked her if she had a problem. The other lady just looked away and didn't say anything. I guess she was too scared to confront the rude woman. I probably would have been as well. She was quite scary.
I had an exactly similar experience recently at a hotel we were staying at in Spain. Sitting outside at at table for two (all other tables vacant bar a couple). OH went in to get coffee and while he was gone an elderly woman (part of of large group of rather voluble older women who seemed to have traveled from various countries to meet up - you'd recognize the type) dragged his chair away. I said all the 'Excuse me, ahem, somebody sitting there..etc etc' and she turned and literally snarled at me 'Did you pay for this chair'. I was actually so taken aback I was speechless. She did move, but only thanks to her friends embarrassment.
the two alcoholics on the bus the other day were vile, obnoxious,
racist rants, swearing, at all unsundry, and as we were stuck in a long tailback of traffic one couldn't get off. After a particularly vile stream of words, i and another passenger spoke with the driver, at the next stop they were shown off the bus, i had got off the bus at the stop, then thought what the hell am i getting off for, so promptly got back on, all the while she was waving her fist and swearing at me from the pavement,
i like to think this is an exception, but sadly it isn't.
