I took it recently with no side effects. I quite liked the taste too!
Yes/none
Do you mean tablets, suspension, peassaries or powder?
LOL...pessaries.......
Ive used it a lot in the home I work at with no issues at all.

still very safe.

an antifungal which was first discovered and develped in New York State and so they called it ( having already used Nylon ) Nystatin

Would it be ok to use with Pencillan ? My sister still has a bad throat and has been given Pencillan as other antibiotic didn't seem to work. GP said her tongue was coated with fungal infection and prescribed Nystatin mouthwash. Though it does say swallow after swooshing mouth, she. Has started to spit it out as she now has naseau and the runs.

Any advice would be helpful as she feels quite poorly.
Got you!

\\\\\Though it does say swallow after swooshing mouth, she. Has started to spit it out as she now has naseau and the runs. \\\\

That does sound like a side effect of Nystatin.

Quite a mix up here...what is causing what.

I would stop the penicillin, stop the nystatin, and just take anti-inflammatory drugs e.g ibuprofen.

That would be my approach to the situation........however, before following my advice, seek the opinion of your GP.

Not sure Sqad. She had a throat infection took Amoxillan for 5 days then felt no better GP said her to take Nystatin as her tongue was coated. She had noticed a really dry mouth so thought this fungal infection must be the cause. The GP prescribed Pencillan but only take it if throat infection returned. Well she thinks the throat infection has never really cleared up.

On top of this she feels really poorly. All the GP said was viruses will make you feel ill. This has been going on for 3 weeks.

Just another point Sqad, my sister was garling with Oraldene (I think that's wat it's called) her GP said leave that alone and go onto Nystatin, but from what I have read, Oraldene is also for the treatment of thrush of the mouth/ tongue.

She is really confused as to what to do. Thought I would help her out by asking some advice on AB. TIA
Question Author
Oraldene she was using now and again for the pain in her throat not for tongue thrush ( this was before she knew she had it). Confused, I am. Lol lol
LOL........my advice still stands........stop everything....see what happens and if necessary...start again.

Cheers Sqad for the advice I will phone her now. By the way she can't take Ibuprofen more than a couple of times as it upsets her tummy despite taking it with milk.
