/// Through our topics, visitors and discussions we have been developing multicultural awareness in both Britain and throughout the world, but this visit will help us to experience in real life a school where there is a wide mix of children with different ethnic backgrounds and almost 50 per cent of the children do not have English as their first language.’ ///
I always thought that it was the immigrants to a land who were encouraged to take an interest in how the natives of that land lived, not the other way round as in this case?
I wonder if Smallberry Green primary in Isleworth will be returning this visit to show their pupils how most of the indigenous natives of this country lived before multi immigration?

/// They're going on a sleepover to see what urban life is like in the UK- no-one's demanding they alter their own lives. I don't see a lot of merit in it personally but it's hardly at attack on the British way of life, it's just part of their education. ///
I neither said anyone was demanding that they alter their way of life or that it was in anyway an attack on the British (English) way of life.
Just thought it would be more appropriate, and more beneficial to the children of this London school; to be visiting Devon.

Funny in my school days "I would have also been delighted had my white, middle class run an exchange with out polar opposite. I would have been excited, educated and made new friends"
The only trouble would have been the fact that my parents would not have been able to afford the Liner fare to Africa or India. :0)

Why make parents shell out £35 per child because they happen to live in an area where there a no ethnic mix (is that PC enough?) children? Perhaps Ofsted should pay. Not the children's fault. 2 days? Sleeping in a school? Where? Crash mats in the school hall?
Engage in outdoor activities? Doesn't outdoors exist in the country? Record a CD? Not exactly mixing with other children.
Patronising? Yes.
