Could You Live Without A Tv?

could you live without a tv? (or do you/have you lived without a tv?)
I lived tv free for a few years and have only had my recent set for a couple of years (had it given me, I wouldnt have bought one) but am seriously thinking of putting it in the skip. Theres only a handful of progs that I view and I dont sweat if I miss them, for the most part it seems like theres nothing but reality tv or repeats to choose from.
In the past whenever I mentioned that I didnt own a tv most people were incredulous....what did I do in the evening, how did I keep up with whats going on, didnt I miss certain 'entertainment', etc.
Would you miss your television?

There ARE certain programmes that I like (some comedy repeats, quizzes, occasional documentry) but dont watch any sport, soaps or reality shows. But it seems like once the tv is on, it stays on regardless of whats been broadcast. Seems like such a waste of time when I could be reading (my passion) or doing something else.
Lived from mid 70s to early 80s without a TV, that's when I got into crosswords/radio/music and good company.
Currently have a TV, but also have a wife and daughter into anything Reality, XFactor type programmes, so don't really stand a chance (wouldn't have another set either). Probably watch about one hour a week.
Wouldn't miss it it at all.

Nailit, most people are surprised but accept it.
I do have a flat screen telly but it is in the wardrobe. The cats were in the wardrobe earlier and there was a bang so it is possible that it is smashed. :-)
I don't drink alcohol or smoke - there are still people out there who insist on buying me a "real" drink when I am out.
Anyway I am being advised that it is time for bed. And I have to obey the little furry demon or he will make my life even more miserable than it is.
