For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.DLA does not finish when you are retiring age however you will be asked if you want to apply for Personal Independence Payment which has already commenced in some areas. When you will be asked depends on whether your existing DLA is a time limit award or an Indefinite Award. If indefinite award you will be asked sometime after October 2015. Stricter rules apply to PIP.
This explains it all quite well..although it's still complicated :)

If you're already getting DLA when you reach 65, you can continue to get it as long as you still have care or mobility needs.
But it's changing to PIP ..
