Smashing......thanks for sharing....
You seem to have a lot of worries on your mind at the moment, gordie.
Perhaps you could rank them and decide which ones you can do something about (current health, debts) and those which you can't really do much about (ebola). Hope you find something to cheer you up.
why do you think you might be at risk?
At the moment I cannot see how anyone with Ebola could reach me before they died, unless they fell off a plane.
I read that one is more likely to be hit by an asteroid than to win the lottery, and yet a number of folk win the lottery every week ! I for one am scanning the skies regularly now and not venturing out if a see one coming.
Hi Gordie, I've just spotted this article, which seems to give a sensible view about the risks.

It seems it's NOT an airborne virus but is spread by contact with body fluids, so if there is a risk, scrupulous hand washing is advised. On the TV news at lunchtime, they were showing people in an African Village (where ebola is already there) how to wash their hands to a clinical standard.

Do have a read - it seems a sensible article to me.
read jomifl's post and have a beverage of your choice. Put some favourite music on and relax.
Too right we should, put it this way, if I shot you, you would have a better chance of survival than if you caught this nasty little bu&&er...

The one thing we have in our favour is that it doesnt like the cold...any chance we can switch back to our normal crap summers???
Slapshot ~ it does not fill me with confidence that you are asking us about the weather forecast.

Gordie ~ I think that we are safe, but it is a nasty disease/bug
How many West African villages have access to really clean water?
Wash or die from drinking contaminated water.
Too bad it was seen as a disease of poor Africans. No vaccine has been developed because there is no profit to be made.

Until it gets into the rest of the world, nobody will be interesting developing a cure.

Meanwhile the world rushed to develop a vaccine for Hendra virus because there is big money in protecting valuable horses.
I hope very much that the American doctor Kent Brantley will recover from ebola. He has apparently shown slight improvement in last 24 hours. I felt really sorry when I read he had caught it. (The carers wear head to toe suits and suffer from the heat inside and are only work supposed to stay inside it for an hour, but some are spending two hours).
