I've always wanted my nose pierced but have never gone through with it. My now ex-OH was always against (although he got a tattoo last year). I'm now 41 and really want to go ahead with it. What do you think? Left nostril or right?

If you have been deprived of getting anything - just go for it. Right nostril for me.
Does it matter?

I think it's horrible - but just out of curiosity how do people with such piercings blow their noses? It conjures up pretty disgusting visions.
Go for it Filbert - no preference as to which side.
My son has his nose pierced (he's 18) in the right nostril.

When you take it out it looks like you have a massive black head. Just saying...

Just get a stick on one then you can change your mind
I always think I'd keep thinking I'd got a bogey on my nose
It doesn't block the nose Naomi, people can blow just the same.
I saw a young man on the bus going to work recently. He had a ring through his nose like bulls do. It was horrible but you couldnt help looking back again to see how horrible!
I've no doubt it doesn't block the nose, Mamya .... but what about the free passage of the contents of the hooter - if you get my ... err ... drift?

'Snot worth worrying about.....

I've always wanted it but in my line of profession (pre-school teacher) I never went ahead and got my ears done instead(3 times). I don't want anything big, just a small stud. It's something I've always wanted and after recently splitting up with my OH after 19 years, I thought it was time I did something for me. Just to say my boss is ok with it.
I'm with ummm, (not literally mind...) when it's in it's ok, when it's out it's awful....
Mine was on the right, it was easier to put the studs in as i'm right handed.
Bad as a messy nose might be there are more inconvenient piercings. Some men with Prince Albert piercings find they need to sit to pee.

// I want to get my nose pierced, but I have allergies and get colds in the winter. How do you blow your nose?
Once a nose (nostril or septum) piercing is healed, blowing your nose is as simple as if it weren't pierced. The jewelry really doesn't get in the way, and you learn to work around it if it does. But the first few weeks, during the healing process, it will be difficult to relieve your sinuses. It is best to keep this in mind when making an appointment to get your nose pierced - the peak of allergy season or flu season is not a good time to do this. //
Naomi, proper nose stud post are bent at a 90 degree angle, they sit neatly and snugly against the inner nostril so are not in the way of anything.

Never thought about that Daffy. You have a point. Right side would be easier
Nasal piercing...........what a good idea.

The chance of a septal haematoma with abscess formation and nasal deformity.
