I'm Peeling!

For some strange reason the soles of my feet and the palms of my hands are shedding thin layers of skin.

I'm not overly concerned just curious as to why it it happening.

Any thoughts?

Are they just dry? Have you tried some good moisturiser?

That happened to me when I was really poorly (suspected Kawasaki's!).

Yes.......they are peeling because you have sent a nasty post to sqad....;-)

Seriously, the commonest cause is dermatitis (Eczema) and 1% hydrocortisone cream should clear it up.

Defo not to do with dryness, I use emollients daily.

I was peeling on sunday but eventually it came to an end and I now have lots of red tomato chutney...

Thank you lamp post :-) But I really don't think it is eczema, and if it is dermatitis I'm intrigued to understand why it is affecting just soles and palms. Bit odd me thinks.

I view dermatitis as a mild condition and eczema as the more serious variant.

Arguably the the same condition but the range is extensive.

Either way, it is highly unlikely that it is why I have peels palms and soles.

The only time my palms do that, is if I've been using different cleaning products- doesn't explain the feet though! Can only suggest exfoliate and vaseline or baby oil and see if that helps.

I have had peeling palms and foot soles but it was part of an allergic reaction to penecillin and I think you'd know if it was a similar allergic reaction, I had a rash EVERYWHERE!
