I had three teeth extracted, a number of fillings, and a tooth added to a partial denture. The total cost more than £700.
Do they think we're made of money?

there you are then sandy. money well spent if it gives you more confidence,,, practice smiling in front of the mirror , :)
agree sqad - sounds cheap

do they think we realise how much money it takes to run a modern health delivery system ? no we dont ( realise how much it costs ) as we have the NHS and go around thinking everything should be free and it runs on air.
@naomi

"Find an NHS dentist"

*Chortlesplutters*, thud!

Haha my dentist said to me:
well it looks as tho you're going to survive your latest bout of cancer.... now I have never really liked your upper left 1-4....and I wanna replace them.....
.

Yeah I ignored the 'find an NHS dentist, its your choice'
as I thought hmm obviously never goes to the dentist....
Tilly, thanks for posting that poem. It made me laugh.
Sandy, I've always said to my son that being a dentist would be a good way to make a living. My previous dentist seemed to rake it in.
I did not type "chortlesplutters", by the way. It was a chain of LOLs.
Runs on taxation not air PP.
You should have asked me.

I would have had a go for half that!
That's pretty reasonable, sandy - I paid nearly £100 for an extraction and £175 for a molar filling in the last month.
My dentist charges £18 for a scale and polish, £49 for fillings (any number) and £200 for a crown. I thought this was normal these days.
That's NHS charges viv38. SandyRoe went to a private dentist.
viv, those are NHS charges. There are no NHS vacancies round here, we have no choice than to go private. We don't even get a discount for being senior...
Sorry, I didn't read all the answers properly. Gosh, I'd hate to have to go private !
Well, if I had to use a private dentist then I just wouldn't be able to afford to go.
Me neither.
We save up, pooka :-)
