No More Mr Nice Guy?

I was watching a female dating coach on the "This Morning" show today. She claimed that women don't want a 'nice guy', and find 'bad boys' much more interesting (and challenging). Some years ago I was the only male at my place of work and when it became known (inadvertently, I certainly didn't advertise the fact) that I'd previously served a few prison sentences, I suddenly found myself the centre of female interest and went on to date one of the females there for a couple of years, in fact at the time I could have literally had my pick of females. At the time I was far from been a 'gentleman', I drank too much, turned up to work hungover, argued with the manager (no one else would), and generally didnt give a toss.
And yet I had loads of female attention....
So what is it?...mothering instinct?
Personally I find it bizarre. I wouldnt want anything to do with a woman thats been to prison, turns up for work with a hangover and who is argumentative.

Some women fall "in love " with serial killers on death row.
Some women like the satisfaction of being "laid" by a celeb..e.g footballer or TV star.
Some women like the "power" game.......to get laid by the "boss"
All women like the excitement of "the forbidden fruit."

It would seem that a study of these "dating sites" illustrate that these women still love their husbands, want to maintain their marriage, but want that some thing that marriage has neutralised.......EXCITEMENT.

Nice guy or otherwise......it doesn't really matter.

There was one female at work that took to telling me that she lived in a sexless marriage and made it clear that she was up for it with me, even came around one night with wine and beer....I was to much of a gent to cheat on my girlfriend. Wish I could turn the clock back...

My mother likes a 'bad boy'- she and my father, although they are split up are never far from each other's thoughts, and he was apparently the biggest nightmare when they got together and remain the itch each other has to scratch despite them both having had lots of very nice partners since.
I just find bad boys tiresome, irritating, and I generally want to give them a good shake, avoid them like the plague or beat them into the middle of next week. I like quiet men who are happy and confident in who they are and don't feel the need to get hammered every Friday, beat people up to exert their 'alpha status', demean their partners with their antics or generally behave like teenage lads.
I know I'm in the minority with that, but I have first hand experience of my father being a lovely father but he'd be a terrible husband, so so not picking one of those:)

Squad, she was a bit on the chubby side, maybe thats why I didnt succumb to temptation. Imagine she might have been good in the sack tho. Had the kind of lips that could suck a golf ball through a hosepipe.

nailit, I suppose if you want a slapper or someone with low self-esteem, a doormat, or bored housewife to be your partner then be a bad boy. Some women are maybe attracted to bad boys because they think they will be the one to change them. If you want an independent thinking, intelligent,exciting woman who would make a great life partner -then be good -very good. ;-)

You will never know........I presume that was what she was offering "sack time"........not necessarily her intellect and certainly not a long standing meaningful relationship.

I'd guess you would have seemed more exciting for a short term fling. Bad boy, own person, strong/confident enough to do what he wants and hang the consequences. Did any of your admirers actually look for a long term/permanent relationship ?

OG, I had a relationship with one of the staff for a couple of years. Interestingly she turned out to be a 'rescuer' type. Always trying to save me from myself...when I didnt want saving. If I wanted to be saved I would have gone to church.

I think theres a lot to what Nailit said, growing up my parents wanted me to be honest, truthful and "nice" so I guess I was. I didn't do anything remotely bad and rarely had a girlfriend, okay I was a bookworm as well, studied my nuts off to get into what I wanted. My wife was married before....alcoholic thug who beat the crap out of her...said she wanted something different....still wonder of there's a book, women 101!!
