How Do Some People Manage

to get up so early in the morning on a regular basis? I often notice Waterboatmans 'good morning early birds' threads and they often start around 4:30 (or before) in the morning. Ive been up at that time on occasions (when doing car boots for instance) but it boggles my mind to think I would have to arise at that time on a regular basis, I mean, what time would you have to go to bed? 7:30--8. pm?
Larks and owls I suppose but 4:30 (or before) seems very austere to me.

Im pushing my luck staying up so late tonight as I have to be out of bed by 2 in the morning. Im in bed and asleep by 8pm most nights, sometimes a lot earlier if ive had a long day. I watch most of my tv through catch up, I have to avoid conversations throughout the day that may contain a spoiler! Social life suffers as staying out past 9pm requires mass effort on my behalf, and im home before everyone else has even started.

Have to take the dog for a long walk early doors, then hop around the house feeding cats and kittens, getting in and out of the shower, making breakfast, and answering emails etc so am up at the crack of dawn and try and keep track of the GMEB thread whilst curling hair and putting make-up on then off to work before 7am.
At the weekends I'm still up and about at 4.45am, it's just my natural body clock now. Would love to have a lie-in until 10am one day :-)

No, im allergic to flour! Im supposed to work three earlies a week 7-5 and two lates 12-10pm which kills me, especially a late shift into an early. Working early earlies I get away with 4am-2ish five days a week, which is easier for my body to cope with than working opposite ends of the day. I worked nights for a year which was harder as trying to sleep in the daytime often proved ti be an impossible task
My husband leaves for work @ 4am....5am at the latest.I also alarm call my daughter @ 7, more for my peace of mind, you can never stop being a mother !! Sometimes I just 'starfish' and embrace the space...other times I can't get back to sleep.I often go on-line.... sometimes lash LBC on the radio, sometimes I just put the tele on....that's usually enough to get me back to sleep ;)
That's all with me going to bed , along with earplugs, in the early hours.
Lack of sleep sucks big style but peace of mind sucks even worse ;)
How are you nailit ? I'm a lurker. I follow your trials and tribulations.I have them as well, you're not alone bud but you're just braver than me :)
Just wanted you to know i'm 100% behind you....been there in various situations (jail excluded I have to say :) ) and if I can offer you support in any way I shall.I've seen my daughter, literally on her knees in desperation with the 'system', she's absolutely fine now...I 'get' you ! I'll post a throwaway' if you like ! Off topic but thought i'd catch you when I saw you.

LOL BOO, yes I suppose it is.
I can understand work commitmants but even then it isnt everyday and it isnt neccesary your natural 'body clock'.
I often wish that I could be an earlier riser (maybe 6ish) and ready to start my day but 4:30 seems to be for monks.

I get up early on Sundays for work at 5.30am and to be brutally honest I feel like death, i genuinely think I would die if i had to do it on a daily basis. There's no way no how I could type even remotely coherent enough before i go to work in order to be a part of the Good Morning thread on that day.
My work colleagues should consider themselves lucky that i've mustered the energy to brush my teeth and put my hair up before arriving, and it's also a good thing that im alone in the bakery until about 11am (a much more sociable hour), before I face the general public behind a till.
