I've got some kind of growth on the end of my little toe. Its a hard little (white) lump. Its not painful or anything but is a little annoying. My GP gave me some cream for it at the start of the year but it didnt do anything. Never bothered going back as it obviously isnt life threatening but it is a little painful if I catch it when (for instance) I'm putting my socks on.
Any idea what it is?
Thanks.

Of it is hard.......rock hard....it is an osteoma.....non malingnant bone growth? no big deal.

If it is "fairly firm"..... then it is a fibroma, often associated with arthritis...?again no big deal.

If it is annoying, then you can have it chiselled off

Why would arthritis manifest on the skin Sqad?
BTW, put your chisel away, not ready have my toes chopped of just yet ;-)
There are manifestations of arthritis in the skin, but they do not apply in your case. I rather gathered that your " growth" was attached to the bone of the little toe. If it is, then it is an osteoma, but if it isn't it is a fibroma

osteoma? fibroma?
Dunno Sqad, Just an annoying little lump on my toe. I'll put it on my 'to do list' for 2015.
The cream the Dr. gave me didnt shift it, dont know what that was?
I'll save the chisel just in case...
On more "down to earth" thinking by sqad.....I would go for a bunion, also called a callus.
Or simply a corn
Thank you hc, I couldn't think of the word..."corn."
