Hello all

My Ortho surgeon deserves a lot more than I can afford in thanks for his continual work and patience.

I would like to buy him a token of my thanks for Christmas but have no idea what he likes as I don't know him personally. I considered baking a gift which I still may do but would like an idea for something to buy.

Any ideas please? Budget around £20.

Thanks all

My husband suggested a years supply of 'Funny Feet' Walls ice creams as he is a foot man. I love this idea but it's not practical and likely expensive.
plus how many could you really eat in a year?
365 shouldn't present too much of a problem
Bottle of wine as there is a lot of food/sweets given at this time of year.
I would probably go with a bottle of wine....ask his secretary what he drinks.. and some funny socks......x
I think anneasquith's idea of a donation to his favourite charity is excellent. It shows your appreciation and doesn't embarrass him in case your gift turns out to be inappropriate.
'submit button' ! In fact I think I'll do the same for mine!
i also have to say, NHS staff are now expected to let their employers know about any gifts they receive!

You should get a bottle of Beaune wine (pronounce it!)........red wine is also recommended for osteoporosis.
A bottle of the 2012 Beaune, Domaine des Croix, comes in at just under £20. Berry's have it if you in London or the airports before Christmas.
My old dad once bought his doctor a t shirt with the hypocratic oath printed on the front, the doctor really liked it.
