You have made Private Eye 'True Stories' in their Christmas edition.

This one from the Irish Times: http://www.thedetail.tv/issues/358/cremation/jewellery-metal-hips-gold-teeth-%E2%80%93-why-were-families-not-told-of-cremation-recycling-scheme

Planning to go for cremation, are we?

Almost as good as the Redditch swimming pool that is hooked up to the next door crematorium for heat to warm the waters as Aunty Flo slowly burns.....

Waste no want not. Seems a decent idea.
But did they not waste the Soylent Green ?
All the metal would, otherwise, have gone to waste. As long as they aren't doing dental extractions prior to cremation there is no harm in seeking the metal.

When I went to pick up my dad's ashes I was amazed at how heavy they were, maybe just something that I had never thought about before. He is living in Loch Earn these days - bit chilly just now.

Do you mean Loch Erne? I know that one quite well.
Svejk - nope Loch Earn in Perthshire. Beautiful place
Svejk, are you Irish?
My family's from near Enniskillen, psybbs. Hence the Loch Erne connection. Thought there might be a Loch Earn as there are thousands of them.
Lochs that is, not Loch Earns.
