Wow - what effects this has. Suggested by the quack to get weight off me quickly with the benefits of, hopefully, no blood pressure pills, reduced risk of gout and Diabetes 2. I wasn't there on DB2 and my blood was okay, however, as he said, there was a risk.

As near zero as I can get for three weeks, then I can bring it up by 5g a week, the idea to create ketogenesis in the body to convert fat into energy.

Side effects, incredibly fatigued after about 9pm, and I won't go into the side effects down under but for one, a lot more peeing. My own guestimate is that some two to three pounds are off me already. Can feel it on my rear and belt.

The diet, protein and lots of veg and fruit, tonight lamb chops pan roasted with a little garlic and chilli, roasted cauli, beet and chicory, some french beans steamed. A green apple later. Cheese omlette this morning and an apple.....

Any good (unusual) recipes for no carbs?

If you have had any previous problems with Depression tread safely. I tried a no-carb or low-carb diet a few years back and ended up in a very dark place.

Try a low-GI diet - ideal for diabetes and stuff like that.
if I want to shift a few pounds, without resorting to the pink stuff, I do the poo diet ; porridge for brekkie then nowt but fruit and veg ,as much as I want and lots of water...can lose usually about 5/6 pounds a week..but get the loo roll in !
well......since the 5th of jan i've lost 3st 1lb.... how, cutting back everything to between 750 and 1000 calories per day, strayed a couple of times but on the whole happy. Like DTC its been effectively low carb, i've always gone for a 35/65% split anyway, 35% Carb 65% Protein and everything else. When I was still playing hockey and everything else I was the same 35/63% split, it's suggested by the sports nutrition experts that for my physiology it was best...I'm a deisel rather than a sports car that need quick energy, loads of stamina less need for high speed bursts.

Been in Ketosis (ketogenesis) for the whole time and for me it works. I have a lot to lose but I'm happy with the start. Stick with it mate...you are not alone!

So, no chips but you can drink wine?
Cabbage is even better retro, doesn't lose as much of the goodness in boiling, great as a sub for Pasta, rice and spuds depending on what else is on the go.
I've tried the cauliflower rice and it's very good. I've been trying to cut down on my carbs but I'm finding it hard to do every day.
kidney beans, sweetcorn, peas, chickpeas...mix in some sweet chilli sauce ...yum and very filling...
Tin of mixed beans in a spicy sauce and stir fry some chicken & veggies in a chilli sauce. Very tasty.

wine is in, unless it is sweet, very little sugar in a Sauvignon Blanc or Rioja..... roasted cauli and chicory has been my sub for potatoes and rice, upped the chilli intake too.

and absolutely no chips, French, English or American definition - the pain is actually pasta as I do love a good pasta dish - maybe in a couple of weeks using a wholewheat but it's not like the real McCoy, is it?
