First point:
This is a UK-based website. While we're happy to try to help people from all over the world, our medical practices and mental health support services might work in a very different way to those in the USA, where I assume that you're based (because 'gotten' is archaic English here and young people can't drive a car until age 17. Also home-schooling is almost unknown here).

However (if the US approach is similar to the one which is most likely to be used in the UK) a short-term course of a single anti-depressant (such as Termazepam) might be prescribed simply to 'break the cycle' but far, far more important, some cognitive behaviouiral therapy (or other form of counselling) would probably be recommended.
