After taking Amlodipine many years for my BP I started to get swollen feet. GP took me off them and yes they went down.

After a while the BP was sky high again so am now on Felodipine...BP gone down a treat.

So dissapointed now as my right foot has started to swell badly the left not quite so much.

Does anyone know if this would/could be connected to the Felodipine. Please.

Possibly....................
cupotee, do you have an information leaflet about your medication ? check the '' side effects''
They are both Calcium channel blockers, as someone with no medical knowledge that would make me ask GP the question. Have you discussed alternatives with him/her.
Cupotee, it's a well known side effect for some people. I've been taking it for about five or so months and my GP warned me about it.
I've found that by keeping my feet up on a small footstool every time I sit down really helps stop it happening. I too was very disappointed when my ankles and feet initially swelled up but if you keep them raised whenever possible the swelling will stop. Mine have gone back to normal.

Thank you all for your speedy responses.

I do have my feet up right now. I will check it out with my GP this week also. It was hoped these would eliminate the swelling!

I also take Ramipril at the same time. I don't think I have any side effects from those.
I take ramipril too, have taken it for about ten years. This felodipine is a fairly recent add on as my blood pressure had been slowly creeping up and I'm on the maximum ramipril.
Good luck :)
I presume that you have had a chest X-Ray, ECG and blood lipid profile?
prils can make you cough, so watch out when you've got a cold.
