Will you allow an old man to reminisce for a moment.
I was returning by train to Leeds from King's Cross after attending the Royal Society of medicine, the lecture given by Mr. Philip Beale.
As I took my seat in the train, i was dumbstruck and speechless to be sat next to the great man......I, a very junior insignificant pretender and him an internationally known surgeon.
He said "What do you want to chat about" and me in aew of my co-passenger said......acoustic neuromas Sir."
So from Kings Cross to Doncaster.........I chatted away to one of my heroes.
Sorry about that..........and thanks for indulging me.
