Simvastatin

Does anyone here who takes this drug ever suffer with extreme tiredness, lethargy and falling asleep virtually at the drop of a hat? Just wondering if this could be one of the many side effects of the drug when everything else has been ruled out. Thanks for your answers.

I got aching arms with Simvastatin. I'm now on a different one whose name escapes me. Could he/she ask to try a switch to another?

My doctor said that there is problems with Simvastatin and Amlodipine when taken together. He took me off the Simvastatin and put me on some other drug that I have forgotten the name of.

If an illness doesn't kill us the drugs they give us to treat it will probably finish us off.

Thanks for your replies one and all, Wolfe you're right if the ailment doesn't finish us off the side effects from medication will, they will bump us off one way or another. I prefer not taking tablets myself unless it's a dire situation and even then it's on my own terms. I feel that we only pop our clogs when we are meant to in whatever way it comes so I'm happy at making choices for myself. I do think on what I'm reading that statins have a lots of problems for certain people, some can tolerate them and some like my OH have the side effects. I also read that it seems there's a backlash against this 'wonder drug' and that the medical and scientific world may not have got it right as to the benefits of it after all. Will advise my OH to speak to the GP with a view to coming off of them just to see if the condition changes.

Doc put me on atorvastatin along with Amlodipine and losartan. No probs here...so far !!!!
