Toothache !!! Infection But Antibiotics Have Run Out ...grrrrrrrr

im on 500mg anti biotics ( amoxicillan ) now for 4 days due to re occuring tooth infection. im booked in to have root canal done on 8 april. im out of pills now and called dentist to get more yesterday , he came back and told me that antibiotics would be kicking in right about now, well, that was yesterday and im in bloody agony.

might get the pliers out here .

can i buy any antibiotics over counter ? and usually how long untill they start working, maybe this time around the infection has got used to anti biotics and they are not working same as before.

dentist should have done his job this time last year then i would be fine ( idiot )

no you can't get then OTC. If the course hasn't worked it might be because it needs a different antibiotic, is there an NHS walk in or OOH centre near you?

Just goes to show how antibiotics aren't working as well as they used too. Scary. And no. You can't buy a/b's over the counter. Need a script. Not necessarily the dentist's fault.
