Question About The Royal Baby...

My OH saw the photo of the new born royal babe when Catherine was leaving the hospital and remarked that the baby didn't look new born as in a few hours old, I thought nothing of it, didn't even consider that. I've just read somewhere that there is a conspiracy theory by some Russian press/people that they didn't think the baby was newborn and indeed some think she was born a few days earlier from a surrogate mother! I'm not into conspiracy theories but was shocked that only yesterday my OH had said about the baby not looking like a newborn. Does anyone else think that?

Nope. And if there were such a conspiracy don't you think they'd make sure the surrogate baby was new born?

I've heard it said on here that she didn't look 'new' - in my experience a baby of a good weight can lose that wrinkled new look very quickly.

Seems a shame to put the conspiracy theorists out of their fun though.

Hc, yes IF I believed in conspiracy theories, this one is too lame anyway. All ai am asking if others thought like my OH at the time of the photo, that the baby didn't look new born. I thought she did so was shocked it was mentioned and then today in the article I read, the Russian people who commented also said the baby didn't look new born!

Babies a day or two old usually develop a sucking blister on their top lip. This can last for a few weeks. No such blister on this baby.

Yes that's what I thought Lynne because of weight when born not many wrinkles because of size....

Yes, I didn't think that it looked like a day old baby either......BUT....it was overdue and many of these "overdue" babies do look older than their age.

Kate looked radiant. We must remember that she has beauticians to 'do her up' before appearing in public. She is expected to do her duty and smile through it all. That's what the royals do. How they must suffer for their titles sometimes. I bet she was just wanting to get home and get out of those heels so she could have a rest 'having done her duty'.

Jeez we're not going to have to put up with this for years now are we? She was 8lb 3ozs, above average and with that extra puffing she probably doesn't look new born in comparison to the 6 pounders lots of people have.

My son was over 9lbs. Looked 6 weeks old at birth! I remember combing my hair and putting on make up for mother and husband's visit. Took one look T me and said"you look ok, where's the baby? They went off to the nursery for 20 minutes! All the other Mums who were looking pale and exhausted were being fussed over!
