im rather confused, i have been apart from my ex girlfirend for more than a year now but since we have remained very close friends. recently we have been hooking up, and have been hangin out quite a bit, despite her saying she doesnt think it wouldnt work again, but everytime we r hangin out its like we r a proper couple (kissing holding hands) etc. its really confusing me.

mcroy  take what you have at the moment and enjoy it. It might be confusing her in the same way. It might be that she is not ready for a more committed relationship, Your girlfriend sounds like she is relaxed and enjoys your company. She may need time or it may not work out in the long run, if you can enjoy now and wait and see.

On the other hand, if you both dont get your intentions clear upfront this could evenually lead to arguments. Ask yourself, why you guys broke up in the first place. Has this been resolved? Have you agreed to see each other on a casual basis and still see other people, or are you both exclusive? Does she mean it when she says she doesnt think it will work? Is she using you to fill a temporary void (sorry)? There are many unanswered questions and without effective communication someone is likely to get hurt.

It sounds to me like she's taking advantage of your, quite obviously, good nature.

She may enjoy your company and you may have a good time but she's just leading you on by behaving in this way and not wanting to take it further, especially as you sound like you would like to get back together with her.

How would you feel if she got a proper boyfriend?  How would she feel if you got a girlfriend?  It would have to stop then, right?  Couold you still spend time together without the hand holding and kissing?  There will be your answer!
