Do you think that teachers actually care about their students? Do they care about their personal feelings, if they are sad or troubled?

Lately like last year he held a night class course for class room assistants and unbeknown to him my friend done the course and achieved it - she said he was wonderful projectful teacher - she said he was brilliant so there are maybe some kind teachers out there.
There have always been teachers who along with a brilliant interest in the education of their pupils also have a deep interest in their pastoral care - and there always will be.
Some teachers may find the pastoral side harder but teach really well in their subjects , hopefully that balances out within a school.

As stated, some do, some don't.
Funnily enough, sometimes caring for a pupil can backfire on both child and teacher! Take for examples my daughters teacher. This is her first teaching post and she's obviously gone into it a bit green. She's shown great interest in Mini Boo and the feeling's reciprocated, Mini Boo positively adores her. Great you might think! But no, im the one with tears as it's suddenly occurred to Mini Boo that she'll be moving up a year in September, but the teacher won't be moving with her.
Now we've both to deal with a sulky truculent 10 year old :-(
