Last year when I got the kitchen done up I had lovely beige curtains in the dining area with matching pelmet. During the whole upset I threw the pelmet out - but you know it matches the one in the living room.
I would love it back but I am sure the material would be out of date now - any other ideas for a nice pelmet. Friend was to blame for this - oh surely you are going to throw that out and I bloody did. I am like a backward girl sometimes - I always do what I'm told.
Do think friend was jealous - and I was stupid funker.
If you cannot get the same material, try a toning fabric to pick up the beige with a hint of another colour so that is does not look like a bad attempt at a match.
doll the place up you don't need pelmets. Get two nice curtain poles and treat yourself to some new curtains. No, your friend was not jealous -she was telling you the truth -a rare thing these days!
In the 1962, I can remember my Mum glueing vast lengths of material, to a hardboard cut-out pelmet, that my Dad had made in the shed. She managed to get ruddy Copydex everywhere in the process...never again, she said.
Yep,.....my Dad worshipped him, and made fitted wardrobes in my bedroom, + I remember being woken up on countless occasions by him bringing his friends up to see them ;)
well I like them dated or not - they are old but until I get my head round to the living room decorated - they'll stay. Sure I am old and dated myself. I truly think the pelmets finish the curtains. That's that.
retrochic - my friend was jealous - if you see what she lives in - I call it the Bare Necessities - it would truly put you in black depression.
She has got loads of money from the sale of a house - but no, refuses to decorate the house. My back is breaking from an oul suite somebody gave her - she isn't interested in houses - I am just glad it happened in the dining room and not my lovely living room.
that is removed pelmet. by way run over to fabric place but couldn't even a colour remotely like it. However, would love to be getting my living room done as there were truly absolutely fabulous curtains - oh so gorgeous.
