my GP surgery does not do blood tests. We have to go to our local hospital. We are advised, if not fasting to go after 1.pm as its quieter.
I have just got my son to drop me over there at 4.15 as the last ticket is 4.30 they close at 5 .00. It was horrendous, about 50 people in front of me. Hot snd stuffy. I came away.
Now over in Switerland where I now live.
You visit GP and on arrival receptionist aka nurse takes a finger prick or blood from arm on your arrival. When you go into to see doctor he has results on his screen. From this he gets a general reading. They do same for urine tests also. He also has an ultra sound machine.
All this is a GP surgery of one doctor !
I always in the uk thought blood tests were complex and took time ...but no it only takes the machine 10 minutes and the bunted receptionist can do it.
lots of people turn up for things at the last possible moment, or at the first. If a clinic opens at 9 I would normally go at 10-11 to avoid the early rush.
That's correct: the busiest time is when they open. Everyone has the same idea to be there first, plus it's full of people who have been "fasting" overnight and want to get the blood work done so they can go home and eat.
