Wimbledon Dress Code
Having seen articles in the news about the dress code and having to have all white save for a thin strip, advertising brand names seem to be allowed also.
I have been wondering about Serena Williams' tennis dress as she seems to have a large panel of a pattern of purple and while, albeit a muted colour around her middle.
How does this get by the dress code?
I must admit, I do think it looks much better having the dress code rules, however contentious it seems to be.

The midriff panel of Serena's dress was a patterned netting/lace of pure white material which allowed her skin colour to show through, thus creating the "purple" effect you describe.

Here's the actual wording of the rules; I'll leave it to you to decide whether SW's attire conforms to them:

Sorry, should have put a picture Ahh that makes perfect sense now, thanks Aberrant! Feel a bit daft now asking!
The final wasn't too bad for the grunting and screeching at least.
I find the headphones a bit disrespectful, especially when being cheered on to the Court by the crowd, I think someone like Martina Navratilova said the same, that's it's a lack of respect for the crowd, seems they may be tied up in a sponsorship deal though to get money for wearing them on to the Court as advertising.
I'm also intrigued about all the different drinks they have between points/sets, most of them seem to drink from a number of different bottles and all seem to eat the same thing, though never been able to see what that it, seems like a thin bar of something they nibble from. No sign of any bananas this year, that I've seen anyway!
Thanks all for your answers.

It would haha!
I've noticed that, though I'm sure I spotted some bottles by the rest area where they sit. Unless they have it made up and in the water bottles as they seem to use clear or water bottles but with different coloured liquids in. Maybe the bottles are for show, maybe some kind of sponsorship/advertising?
