Recently Paypal changed their payment options and by default you pay after goods are received on certain items. Why do this? It's a real inconvenience as if the item is expensive you have to remember to keep the money available in your bank account.
OK you can change the option - but what a faff!! Talk about user unfriendly! I had to go on a forum for advice before realising the site design had changed and I needed to be on "Classic site" before finding Profile, Wallet and My money options which you need to click on to arrive at the point where you have the option to change the default to "Pay Now"
Wouldn't you have thought it simpler to have Pay Now as default and change to Pay after delivery if that is what you prefer??
Took me ages to fathom it out !! :(
I have only just joined and so have not experienced any change. I like the fact that you don't pay until the goods are delivered. That seems sensible to me, Ann
I use paypal on a daily basis for buying a selling and have not seen any recent changes, they changed the design months ago but you can change back to the old one with a touch of a button. You don't 'need' to be on the classic site to find your personal info. Default is certainly not 'pay later'. I sell using papal and none of my stuff is mailed out before payment.
From their angle, it's all about having your cash to play with, maybe a few hours, days or longer - a skilled treasurer has fun on the corporate and governmental overnight markets - and these can make Wonga Wronga look like a saint.
