What is it with parents that complain about their children all the time .
There is one or two of them on my fb and it drives me mad.
Our children's school broke up for summer holidays at 3.30pm today and by 5.30 one mum was commenting. 'Here we go,6 weeks of hell!!!.' 'The boys are already playing up'
Her two boys are aged 9 and 7 and are pretty good boys and I've always enjoyed having them around as the 9yr old has been a friend to my son for years ,so I know him and his younger brother quite well .
so I'm not sure how they must behave with their mum for her to be saying this after just 2 hours. :( It's not the first time she has posted somethig along these lines.
I would hate to feel like this about my son.

Kids tend to be much better behaved in front of other people. Some days it felt that all mine did was fight, from the minute they got up, to the time they went to bed. At 18 and 16 they aren't that much better.

My friend has just posted on FB. School holidays....the fighting has begun.

I don't think it's parents being negative towards their children individually....just their behaviour when they are forced to spend too much time together.

According to breakfast tv yest it costs around £720 to keep a child entertained through the holidays. I must admit the figure in my opinion is quite high
Perhaps this mum should spend less time on FB and more having fun with her sons.
:-)
Yeah you hand them back to the parents when you have experienced them being good. They may see a different side. Anyway, everyone moans about their loved ones don't they ? Living together is never easy. One reason I still have my own place. Thing is not to take it too seriously. Probably just looking for sympathetic responses. Or maybe a humorous dig, in return.
I've never spent anything like that keeping my child entertained. He used to go to tennis camp for a couple of weeks (daily, not sent off for the whole two weeks) and to a church thing - even though we're not religious. Otherwise he read books or had friends round. I suppose it's easier with just one, though.
When the Kevin and Perry sketches were on TV, I remember how many parents said that they had nailed living with teens and pre teens, especially the "polite to friend's parents, horrible to their own" thing....just sayin
I like Mini Boo on holidays- we get to sleep in, well, if i'm not working anyway.

This afternoon, we're packing for hols, making cupcakes and taking the bikes for a run, if the weather ever stops teeming it down!
I'm sure the kids are nicer in public than in private but, even so, it's quite a lame parent that criticises their kids in writing for all their friends to read forever more.
Its easy when they are younger but a nightmare as they get into their teens and no matter how positive and helpful parents are it's getting impossible to please some of them.
I love the holidays with them all home. I've never understood the people who moan about looking after their children, makes me wonder why they had them in the first place.
You can't predict what child you'll get. My daughter was a breeze. My older son was brilliant, but only if he was with me. My younger son.....gosh, if I'd had him first I wouldn't have had anymore.

I love them all.
Ummm, it's weird how often I've heard that about the youngest child. My parents said that about my younger sister; my partner's son has said the same about his younger daughter. Is it to do with just being the youngest and they'd be different if they had happened to be the first-born?
I think we treat them differently. My older two always say I treat him as the favourite...I don't, imo. I just think by the time you're on your third you really just don't sweat the small stuff so it seems like they are having an easier time.
I'm with whirly , get off Facebook and spend time with your kids!
so many people live their lives on social media, its a shame really ! put the effort into family not the web !!
She may well not have meant it at all in reality, it's a standard chatty thing to make a joke about.
So some have decided a mother spends too much time on facebook because of a post from a mother that viewed it on facebook. That makes a whole load of sense...!
Used to love the school holidays when I could spend time with my children
Now to spend time with grandchildren
I loved the holidays too.
Some people just like to moan, I think.
I also think that some people forget very easily.
