My husband is having an angiogram on Friday. He is not worried about having it. But what about the after effects? Can anyone out there who has had one, reassure me please? Many thanks.

No big deal, there might be some bruising around his thigh or groin and perhaps lower abdomen, but nothing else to worry about.
He will go home the same day, but if his angiogram is done in the afternoon, they may keep him in overnight.
No pain...........
Just take it easy for a couple of days.

My Mum had one when she was 93 years old - she found it painless and the subsequent angioplast performed at the same time cured a long-standing problem she had with pain in her foot. She was kept in overnight only because of her age and the fact that the op wasn't carried out until mid-afternoon. No unpleasant after effects.
