When i had my cervical stitch put in, i was at the pre op clinic with a bunch of other people who were being prepped for Caesarians. There was a 5 minute lecture about "hairy foofs" as that poster has so eloquently put it. You would imagine they wouldn't bother going on about it if they didn't get asked or didn't run into trouble about it. Don't forget the people having babies are young, and we are old!

I thought Midwives shaved expectant mothers when labor started. I,m sure I can remember getting shaved for my first child -however it was 33 years ago and it was in Paris (not that french women are renowned for shaving pubic hair lol!) Considering all the goo and mess down their at birth it would be much more hygienic to be clean shaven or waxed and if you need a suture they will shave you anyway.
