What do people think? I have a thin silver curb chain I sometimes wear but not sure if it makes look a bit poofy - it's not a big heavy bling thing. What do others think?

Doesnt matter what anyone else thinks qwerty. It sounds really alright to me.Must admit i'm not into in your face jewellery on men - like Sovereigns on every finger but yours sounds subtle.Just go for it.
Don't listen to Buddy, it is a definite queer thing to wear any sort of quirky jewellery!!

Men in jewellery is fine as long as they are comfortable wearing it, same as everything else.

If you're not sure about it don't bother but its not a poofy thing!

Happy trails.

qwerty7272  if you like it wear it. I am with Buddy on this one. Why should you not?

My personal opinion is that jewellery on men is wrong - both my brothers used to wear earrings and I thought they looked awful.  The only bling a man should wear is a good quality wristwatch (and possibly a wedding band, if so inclined).

That is my personal opinion, but I agree with Buddy & Co - if you want to wear that stuff and feel comfortable, go ahead.  I'll be laughing at you from behind my beer.

It depends how visible it is.  People wear jewellery for different reasons.  If worn as a token, then it matters to you, you dont have to show it off to others.  There are probably many men around wearing a chain, possibly even with a crucifix, but most, if not all, is hidden from the casual viewer.  Likewise with watches.  In Britain, most people wear long sleeves (I think it is something to do with our climate!) and a watch will seldom be seen.  A wedding ring or suchlike is usually fairly inconspicuous as well.

In my personal opinion, as a member of the older generation, excessive or obvious jewellery is not a sign of homosexuality, but more a sign of a personality disorder (maybe that's too strong a word) where the wearer is saying "Look at me".  That may be because they crave attention or because they want to display their wealth.  I've never understood why some men pay thousands of pounds for a watch when one costing well under 100 is equally as accurate, robust and suitable.

This may be a generation thing, and youngsters today may see things differently.

I LOVE jewellery (and must say I don't understand what gen2 is saying at all - I love wearing an expensive watch - but each to their own!) but I have to admit that on men it can look dodgy.  It's very difficult not to stray into Becks territory.  My bf wears an ankh on a leather cord and it looks okay, but a chain might look a bit tacky.  I think it depends on the rest of what you wear too - what looks good with a skatery-style might look terrible with 'casual' gear.  But at the end of the day it's each to their own of course!
I must say that I wear a quite big silver curb bracelet and a silver curb 22" necklace from Warren James. Theyre both bulky and with the right shirt or t-shirt and a nice pair of jeans it looks very nice and your the one who will stand out in the crowd of small and thin necklaces and bracelets. Bigger is always better ;)
It's a bit chavvy if you ask me.
Qwerty. if you like it then go ahead and wear it. If anyone makes a cheeky remark about it, then just smack them with your handbag!
Personally, I think big chunky stuff just looks silly (it just says 'look at me, I'm cool', they're not. I prefer the more subtle approach!

I'm with gen2 and cuddlysac: for men, the limits are a nice watch, wedding ring, signet ring and cufflinks. Anything else - necklace, bracelet, anklet(!) or piercing - is just tacky.

Make Wristbands History.
