Would like your help with this question...
Just what do women look for, and want, from a man?
Its all a bit perplexing for some of us guys.
Had a couple of friends around last night and after imbibing a few intoxicating substances between us (and getting quiet chatty about our past relationships) realised that none of us actually KNOW what it is that you ladies actually want!
All 3 of us have had a few long term relationships. All 3 of us are now single. (as of course are a lot of ladies). But it seems a common complaint, amongst the male population at least, that men just dont know what women actually want, require or need.

Do you want/ need
1) someone to guide and protect you? or
2) someone to admire and serve you?

Would you prefer a dominant male, a submissive male or an equal (there are no right or wrong answers here)

Thank you..

A pulse does it for me...
a great sense of humour, honesty, loyalty and integrity. No such man exists ... well, not too many ... and they're all taken.

For me -Love (of course), strength tempered with tenderness, wit, intelligence some compatibility in interests is nice but not essential.

Admire is nice but only if it is true - if it doesn't suit me then say so. I have never been served or waited on so doubt I would like it.
A mate, in both senses of the word.

///A pulse does it for me...///

How do you know if the wife has died?
The sex is the same but the dishes pile up...

I'll get my coat.
I agree with Mamya.
Equal on emotional and intellectual terms.

It's really hard to explain. If I take my OH, he's very soft, kind, sensitive, but would never let anyone take advantage of those traits, including me and the kids. He's the 'go to' person if anyone has a problem because he NEVER judges people. He's a provider and a protector...he carries my bags, opens doors...and he wouldn't hesitate in helping anyone else out, male or female.

Much, I think, comes down to personality. I'm happy with my part time job, house keeping and cooking. He's happy working hard, eating food and nodding off.
Looks around for the ladies...

I want a companion. Someone who shares some of my interests and respects the others. Someone whose views on the most important principles and mores are the same (or very similar) to mine. Someone who finds the same things funny that I do (essential). Someone who is physically attracted to me and to whom I am physically attracted. I expect give and take on emotional support and the shared duties of a life together. I don't want 50/50. I want 100/100. I want someone who will talk through problems and issues. I can accept sulks and bad temper because we are all human but after the sulks and bad temper should come talking. I had all this once.
Anyway having just described my man,he says dinner is served, laters.

That sounds just like my dad (deceased) and he was definitly an Alpha male as well. No one 'dared' question him even though he was disabaled in later life and he was an ex sergant in the army but he always had a 'chivilory' about him.
Ermmmm.......
I agree with Janbee! As long as a man can make me laugh, I am happy.
I hate miserable s0ds, misers, dirty with filthy fingernails really turn me off!
