Yellow Colored Coronation Chicken

i have just made some to put into a wrap. its not yellow as in the deli shops but a muddy brown colour, i just added sultanas and curry powder but left out tumeric.

what gives it the yellow colour ? tumeric maybe ?

Turmeric is added to a lot of foods where a yellow colour is wanted.

There's usually turmeric in the curry powder. Maybe diesel's hasn't got much in it.

bookbinder...the "curry powder" in that recipe contains turmeric, presumably. Some of these pre-made powders will have more turmeric than others.

Commercially purchased may have colourings added, as long as the flavour balance is right then there's no problem.

I suspect diesel is used to commercially prepared food...and is disappointed when homemade doesn't appear or taste the same.
Diesel...store-bought usually has all sorts of artificial additives...stick with homemade...always better.

My proper homemade coronation chicken has saffron in it - the "proper" expensive stuff not the fake yellow colouring. They wouldn't use that in commercial versions as it's too expensive.
