The domain name ' btcustomers. com' is owned by a small American company, Skystream Technologies . That company, and the domain name, might be perfectly genuine. (i.e. 'BT' could mean something else in the USA, so there's nothing wrong with Skystream Technologies having the domain name). However it's clearly nothing to do with our own 'BT', so the message...

However it's clearly nothing to do with our own 'BT', so the message is definitely a fake. (I suspect that the email address has simply been 'borrowed' by the hacker who has tried to get you to click on something nasty. Skystream Technologies would probably be horrified to hear that their domain name has been used in such a way).

>>>Any genuine reputable company would surely give you more than 24 hours notice. A scam.
NO company would delete your email logon and lose you as a customer AT ALL, let alone give you only 24 hours notice.
Unless of course you had your email address with an ISP and moved to another ISP, but even then they would probably let you keep you email logon for a while (a number of months).
p.s. This is why is good NOT to have an email address tied to your ISP. Use gmail or Hotmail or some other free email system, then if you change ISP you can carry on using your email.

sorry nothing to do with the scam but seeing this just reminded me that when I upgraded to BT infinity I was eligible for a £100 sainsbury gift card. It has been about a month and a half and I still haven't received it. I just went on to my order to find a contact and it seems they don't just send you the card you have to request it within 6 months of ordering- something they failed to tell me when I completed the order. So thanks for the reminder ;-)
