Just been watching the news. Awful floods in Lancs and around Greater Manchester and even in Leeds. Our hearts go out to those whose properties are flooded and people being evacuated. Any ABers affected? I know several live around those parts .... thinking of you all xx

Now breaking news ..... York residents being evacuated. Hope Mamya is ok?
there's B00, Mrs owdhamer,......any others - mamya has said that she is fine.

According to my sis, it really has pished down all day.....Leeds and the towns to the west now under threat, Pateley, Keighley, Skipton, Ilkley, Giggleswick, etc.

The sinkhole on the M62 is at Middleton.
Got to see some of it first-hand on the way to and from a cinema in Kirkstall. Quite bad, worst I've seen personally at least although generally flooding is always something that's happened to other people. Totally safe at home, at least.
irk and irwell
just down town Manchester
Law Courts and MarkAddey Pub area has been on the news

the reports are not very accurate - we had the tide coming in at Mytholmroyd which is up a hill I think and certainly inland ....

Oldham is not really floodable ( really is up a hill )
and whalley isnt warley
its wolley

jesus these londoners
Most have had it worse than here, I have been out all afternoon and had to paddle (not wade) to my taxi and we passed roads closed due to floods - but nowhere near as terrible as some are having it.

Still it rains, so sad.
nice to see Oldham is not floodable PP, I'll sleep soundly tonight knowing that! Was surprised to see Delph had problems :(

I was thinking of Union Street and the parish church
sort of hilly when I ws last crawling up it

and sleep well sweet cous ....
That was the broadcast from our North West Weather correspondent.
It isn't good Tony agreed, I live 15 feet from water and the levels do rise and fall - it is about the highest I've seen for a long time, the culvert just cannot cope with what is coming down from the moors.
Eek PP!! Am paranoid now! Who are you? :o
