9 Answers
Hi there
I know that high blood glucose was a side effect of prenisolone tablets and my doctor decided it was worth the risk just for 1 week. Today I had a bowl of porridge, walked 2 miles to my mothers house for lunch had an egg roll a 2 finger kit kat and a cup of tea with 1000mg of metfomin and walked home checked my blood sugar could not believe it it is 12.1 still another 2 metformin to take today but is 12 anything to worry about. i am going to take quite a bit of water.

You are not the only one on AB that is discourteous, but certainly the most persistent.
You may not find this much of a disadvantage to your queries and I wish you good luck

Calm doon man. If that finger prick test was the be-all and end-all then all those highly trained people that you see when you visit the hospital would be surplus to requirements and on the dole.
Your doctor knows what's what. Take your medicine.

Gordie, I don't know the answer but blood sugar monitoring is not crucial in type 2 diabetes. I have been type 2 diabetic for many years and have never checked my blood sugar readings. That would indicate that the normal daily ups and downs are not necessarily a sign of something being wrong.
