Its The New Day !
Anybody tried the new newspaper from the Mirror Group,"The New Day " ?

Its free today, so I thought it was worth a go. Brighter than the Mirror, printed on white paper, not light grey, not as rabid as the Sun, more serious than the Express ( but what isn't ) and its not Tory like the DM. Its not too bad although I can't see it ever replacing my Guardian.
I suppose it will sell reasonably well to some people, although it didn't have enough C list celebrity gossip and not nearly enough sport ( only 2 pages ! ) to appeal to those that want something not too challenging to read in the lunch break on the building site.
The i paper is still the best in this sector of the market though.
Will I pay good money for it tomorrow ? ......I don't think so.

The market that it is aimed at is already well covered. Perhaps the left-wing could do with some back up in that sector, but apart from that, its largely irrelevant, especially when we are about to lose the print version of the Independent.
Bit of a mystery !

A typical socialist, who supports the common working man.
Pity our Mikey isn't one of those, since he seems to look down on the building site working men, he must be one of champagne socialist, we hear so much about.

Actually Mamy, it does quite well on the crossword front ::
1 x general knowledge
1 x Cryptic
1 x "quick"
1 x arrowword (?)
and 2 x suduko
No prize puzzle though, but perhaps there will be at the weekend.
I will report back later in the week ! It doesn't have a web edition !
PS...its looks as if the i paper has survived...bought by the Johnson Group
( not that ruddy Johnson I hope ! )
