I've just remembered that most public library services (including ours, here in Suffolk) provide free access, simply by entering a valid library card number, to The Times Digital Archive (although the past decade or so isn't covered).
Using that, I've tracked down GR's article from Saturday, January 28, 2006 entitled 'Spice Should Lift but Not Overpower the Flavour of the Main Ingredient' in which he provided a recipe which is identical to the one in my links above. Here's a screen capture to prove it:

Although the recipe given on 04/07/07 isn't showing up, I'd be prepared to bet that it's the same one!
