I recently met an old friend who I haven't seen for about 6 months, she's always been a bit of a fitness junkie however I was shocked at the strange way she walked towards me - it was like she had no control of her arms, they were swinging about in an exagerated manner and she was taking wide strides - it was almost like she was playing a joke on me! It really alarmed me though, but since she didn't reference it I certainly wasn't going to ask her anything. It is really worrying me though - What could this be a symptom of?
Certainly is a worrying sign.....could be many things, all gerontological and all progressive and incurable.
She needs to see a Neurologist and i would be interested in the follow ups.
I thought so sqad, It was such a marked change in her I found it quite alarming, although it was only when she was walking towards me that I noticed it, we spent the afternoon together and I saw no other signs, nor did she walk like that when she was leaving. Very puzzling, I'm going to discreetly ask among our mutual friends if anyone else has spotted it.
It sounds like vertigo as I too have it but my gait would be of drunkenness. Am also terrified of bending down to pick anything up as I could sway to the left or right and plop.
When she was leaving - vertigo may have left her for a little.
