Mental Health Service. I Am Confused
24 Answers
Hello I was writing a post there about suicide 2 weeks ago and I got a lot of helpful information Thank you for it. I was in my GP due to self harm and feel suicide. GP asked me about some questions and sent a letter to mental health team. Today I've got a phone call from this service and the woman asked for questions and I answered but she also told me If I can promise to keep myself safe or she will send some people to my address so I was scared because it wasn't sound really well so I promised but what was it? Was she speaking about mental hospital? Or what exactly does it means:"I will send some people now to your address"? Thank you I told the truth but suddenly I am scared what should I say them. Thank you Robert.

In hospital you will have psychiatrists, staff nurses, qualified mental health nurses and health assistants. They will all work together to find the best way to help your individual needs.
My son used to self harm and our GP really quickly got him sessions at a place called 'lowdown'

Have a google and see if there's something similar near you. It is 100% confidential. Anything said to them stays with them and never goes any further unless you request it to. I could see a massive difference in my son after just 3 sessions. Actually, contact them and I'm sure they could advise you.
Good luck x

Rob whereabouts do you live? Is it in this country ? Either way you have been given good advice. My brother in law has been in a psychiatric hospital many many times and I have visited him there. He is well looked after and it is just like a well run hospital with staff/doctors to help you get better and get the support that you need. My mother in law also works in mental health and honestly you have nothing to worry about.
