I have a fairly physical job and I sweat a lot. As a result, I try to keep the liquid intake to 1.5 litres .

Trouble is, I don't like water....plain water that is. I drink Volvic sugar free lemon and lime flavour water...and quite a bit of it.

But there's now a lot of fuss over artificial sweetners which are in the volvic. I love tea but again, have one sugar in it and it's not always available.

Any suggestions what I could/should drink without using just plain water.

Cheers

Hammerman, I should have said, I'm type 2 too, and it's not sugar I have in coffee, it's canderel, it's the only sweetener I like. There's been a lot of bad press about various sweeteners but the way I look at it is, it's better for me than sugar and I only have it in coffee, which I only drink in the morning. I make up a jug of just plain tap water with a couple of lemons...

Just ordinary squash.
I make lemon tea for my lot, after it's cooled pop it into bottles and put in fridge, refreshing the following day
herbal tea, thats what my son takes(either hot or iced)
plain water with real lemon or lime juice in and chilled. Add the zest as well if you like
I find heavily diluted Lemon Barley Water very refreshing and not too sweet.
I like fizzy water with just a splash of Rochesters Dry Ginger from Holland + Barrett. It's a cordial, even though they crack on that it's to be drunk as is.
I prefer it with Slimline Tonic, but that's got artificial sweetners in.

Baths

fizzy water with elderflower cordial....
iced tea?
I like fizzy water (Pelligrino) with Robinsons Orange Barley.
I wouldn't fret too much about sweeteners being bad for your health. yes, research did show that they can cause cancer in laboratory animals, but only at 22,000 times the normal intake. I should think that 22,000 times the normal intake of anything on earth would give anyone cancer.
Stop taking sugar in your tea.
I stopped taking sugar in tea when I was 13 as it seemed a grown-up thing to do. 50+ years later I cannot drink tea with sugar and get very annoyed if offered it. Yet I cannot drink coffee without sugar. Odd, isn't it?
Jackdaw, I'm the same. In fact I take more sugar in coffee now than I ever did...hot, strong, sweet and milky.
Tea has to be weak, milk and sugar free.
If you have a physical job you probably don't need to worry about the amount of sugar if you went for the none diet typed squash. I like fruit and barley

Sorry, should've said that I'm type 2 diabetic so really need to watch the sugars. I only have a level teaspoon in tea and coffee...it's one little luxury I refuse to give up and only usually have 2 cups a day.

I'm liking the lemon and lime squeezed into water.
Why not steep some strawberries and either mint or basil in some water? You could add a tiny drop of elderflower cordial to the mix too.
Stop putting sugar in your tea.

After a while you will adjust to it, and find you don't like sugar added.
I also have to drink a lot of water when I`m at work. Drinking water gets quite boring but I have found that when I am genuinely thirsty, drinking water is bliss. I tend to stick a couple of lemon slices in my water bottle which makes it a bit more intersting. Or try Roses Lime Cordial.
Atalanta, there is new concern about sweeteners:

But just as it seemed that the evidence was clear, this year some curious new research from Israel was published, suggesting that far from helping to prevent Type 2 diabetes, the artificial sweeteners aspartame, saccharin and sucralose might contribute to it. Healthy mice were given drinking water with one of these three sweeteners added to it. When they measured their blood glucose levels they found that the mice who had consumed sweeteners were showing glucose intolerance, something associated with Type 2 diabetes, while the mice which drank plain water or water containing ordinary sugar didn’t. The reason appeared to lie in the bacteria found in the gut; if they had consumed sweeteners their gut bacteria was changed.
