Why Dont Medics Listen
47 Answers
For the past few weeks ive been experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety with the result that Ive been drinking every night to cope. Ive been in this position before so recognise the symptoms and where its leading. As many on here know, 3 yrs ago I ended up getting sectioned after a similar (prolonged) bout of the same.
Just been the doctors and asked for a weeks worth of sedative to replace the drink and get back on track again before I end up like I did 3 yrs ago. He refused saying that I was already on mirtazapine. When I was in a psychiatric unit I was given both Mirtazapine AND valium so I cant see the problem. Just left the doctors no better off.
Feel like history repeating itself when no one would listen then.
Don't know what to do

The vocation and compassion that was there in NHS years and years ago is no longer there - that is where I am suggesting to try and go it alone. Yes you will Nailit ask for more- what are you going to do when the week is up????
well there you go Nailit - you answered your own question that if you can do without one - you can go without the other. Why don't you try another calming effect as in over-the-counter. Not that I am a believer there is nothing like quite a prescription.
If you feel strongly can you ask your doctor again for the Valium and tell him that it will be only for one week.

Nailit my friend, you know it is the booze. You have got to give yourself a chance and quit it. I know it is so hard to do, but you would not be posting if you didn't want to. That is a big start. I really hope that you can face it, and fight it. You are obviously in despair with your recent lapse, so you start again from square one, and take it a day at a time. I am hoping for you Nails...Nail it my mate.
