Losing Hearing Aids
6 Answers
I have over the ear hearing aids. They work very well but they frequently fall off, particularly when I remove my reading glasses for which I use a neck string. The other day I was scratching my head and I dislodged one. It fell straight down a grid! Sod's Law. They cost a lot to replace. Has any one any ideas about securing them other than superglue or rivets!

Using thread - jam a length of thread in the battery door and fix other end to an earring or safety pin on clothing. I've also seen a man using surgical tape across the ear to stop it falling out.
Sitting behind a man on the bus - it looked like he used double sided tape to fix the aid to the back of his ear.
I think in general you just have to be very careful and mindful that you are wearing it.

I think that were not fitted properly in the first place. It seems that the tubing on the aid is too long, causing the aid to be loose. Go back to your aid dispenser and tell them the problem. There should be no need for tape etc.
Seriously think about getting NHS aids as they've come on a long way and much cheaper when getting batteries.
