Crutches And Pain
1 Answers
Hello
I've had chronic ankle pain for about eight years now following a bad fracture.
I've had plenty of surgery and we are stil not at the bottom of why.
Pain continues to be an issue for me and I am beginning to wonder if a crutch/stick would help?
I don't want to cause more issues but I wonder if a crutch would help prod you think it would hinder.
Thanks

The good thing about using crutches is that it makes your pain more visible to others - people give you extra space and time.
If you do self prescribe crutches, if you use one, you need to use it in the opposite side to the ankle that hurts so that it goes to the ground the same time as that foot does. When co ing up and down stairs go up with your good side first and come down with your bad side first.
